Behind the Scene:

After the filming is complete, it’s time for the editing part.

Process of Editing:

After selecting from all of the captured footage, I first download and import the video as well as the audio assets into Premiere Pro.

Importing all of the Footages

The video was then edited and synced to the audio.

Trim the Videos and Sync the Audio

In order to make the overall impression more interesting and immersive, I also included background music which used in the official trailer - 'Today' by The Smashing Pumpkins.

Using a little part from the song as Background Music

Adjusting the Audio Gain

I began correcting the colour of the required scenes when the audio and video editing was finished.

Colour Correction

The video and audio have also been given the appropriate effects to smooth out clips between each.

Video and Audio Transitions Effects Added

After I am satisfied with the results, I playback the video one last time for evaluation before exporting it.

Checked and Export it

Task 2: TikTok Video

Apply the learned knowledge to this task. In this assignment, we will be shooting a video about our 'My Campus Life' and editing it after done with the shot. This aims to explore our production shooting and editing environment skills.

Orientation: TikTok is formatted to be viewed on a smartphone, so vertical video is best, though horizontal is also allowed.

Dimensions: TikTok video dimensions should be 1080×1920.

Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio should be that of a standard smartphone screen, 9:16. 1:1 is also possible, but it won’t take up the whole screen.

Camera Movement: Smartphones nowadays are equipped with optical image stabilization.

Creative Framing: The smartphone’s composition principles are different due to its lightweight.

Timelapse: 1 shot of timelapse increases the production value of your video.

Transition: Plan the transition in advance and juxtapose two shots to create a surprise.

Using Props: Be creative about using props.

VFX: VFX makes your video stand out. However, the VFX shot needs to be planned in advance.

I start by writing down and developing my ideas.
